Our Wolf Den

Honey, I Have an Idea!

Here Comes the Bride

outdoor wedding

One of the biggest DIY project we have tackled was our wedding.  I knew I wanted to get married in our back yard, just a sma;; ceremony with family and then have the reception in the parent’s back yard.

The plan was to invite 12 people to the ceremony portion of the day.  I wanted everyone to have seating but instead of renting folding chairs – oh no – I decided (Honey, I have an idea!) to make the chairs.  Armed with this plan from Ana White:

Wolfy built our chairs.  Sadly we were still painting all the chairs the night before our wedding.  We don’t procrastinate at all *eye roll*.

We also built a pergola to be married under.

Other decorations were to attach sheer fabric to the pergola and tie it around the chairs and hang some copper lights (not plugged in) to the top of the pergola.  We also purchased some garden mums and I spray painted the pots they came in white.

Wolfy’s high school buddy flew in from New York to officiate over our wedding and one of my best friends took all the photographs for the day.

We were married on:

10:10 am

And it lasted a whopping:

10 minutes

  1. I can completely relate to a wedding being the biggest DIY project! Love how you made your own stackable chairs
